The purpose of the ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER is to guide branch office staff in providing quality services to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts and services, and solving problems within established policies and procedures. Acts as the Branch Manager in their absence.
Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff.
Establish/maintain effective employee relations at the Branch and across the entire Credit Union.
Assist in supervising the budget for the Branch.
Develop, apply and evaluate procedures for the Branch.
Evaluate job performance and conduct performance reviews for assigned Branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to our members.
Assist in recruiting and selecting quality applicants for open positions.
Conduct meetings with Branch staff to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, products and services.
Oversee equipment and supplies purchases for the Branch office.
Work with Internal Auditors to ensure compliance with our internal controls.
Ensure that the Branch maintains compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and all other applicable agencies.
Assess service effectiveness of the Branch on an ongoing basis; develop strategies to improve Branch efficiencies and service levels.
Monitor Branch activity to include number of transactions, volume, staff errors, and other statistics determined by the Vice President of Operations.
Adjust workloads and work schedules when necessary.
Monitor key products/services within the Branch to ensure profitable and sound business practices for the credit union; maintain high quality member service; ensure employees are maximizing opportunities to sell products and services offered by Colorado United that are in the best interest of the member.
Manage security and safety issues for the Branch.
Ensure that the Branch consistently conveys a professional image and approach.
Responsible for the overall physical appearance of the Branch; coordinate repairs/maintenance with the Facilities Manager.
Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly duties are completed accurately and on time.
Assist members as needed to ensure superior member service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
•High School Diploma or equivalent is REQUIRED.
•Advanced coursework in Business, Finance, Human Resources or a related field is REQUIRED.
•Minimum two years of experience in a financial services environment is REQUIRED.
•Prior supervisory experience highly preferred.
•Considerable judgment is REQUIRED. Must be able to analyze complicated factual situations, apply functional principles and develop solutions with minimal supervision.
•One year working in a Credit Union environment highly preferred.
•Teller and/or Member Services experience within a Credit Union is highly preferred.
•Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary for supervising branch staff and providing Platinum Service Standards to Colorado United’s members.
•Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet is REQUIRED.
•Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations is REQUIRED.
•Work will require gaining and applying knowledge of all Colorado Union policies, procedures, products and services.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports, account documentation and legal documents is REQUIRED.
•Communication skills must include the ability to be tactful, concise, and clear in both verbal and written form when dealing with members and staff.
•Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
•Must be dependable, self-motivated, and work with minimal supervision.
Supervisory Responsibilities
•Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Teller and Member Service areas at assigned Branch.
•Acts as the Branch Manager during the Branch Manager’s absence.
•Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Colorado United’s organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
•Responsibilities include assisting the Branch Manager in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining direct reports; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

TELLER, part-time (25 hrs/week)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Maintain sole control with responsibility for own cash drawer.
•Receive and process share deposits and withdrawals, loan and VISA payments.
•Receive/process payments for mortgage, installment and share secured loans.
•Provide Members with forms necessary to transact business at Colorado United.
•Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability.
•Provide Members with proper receipts for payments.
•Process night drop, mail deposits/payments.
•Maintain awareness of current fraud alerts, scams and identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss to Colorado United Credit Union.
•Cross-sell appropriate products and services offered by Colorado United.
•Respond to Member requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper associate for specific information and assistance.
•Receive various information pertaining to Members’ accounts; route to proper department for processing.
•Process international and collection items, stop payments on share draft accounts, check reorders.
•Provide information on Colorado United products and services including membership eligibility, types of credit union accounts, loan policies, interest and dividend rates, branch locations and hours.
•Assist Members in opening new accounts, products and services.
•Process Members in and out of safe deposit area.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum qualifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Intermediate mathematical skills(calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
•General computer skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience in customer service.
Previous experience meeting customer satisfaction goals.
Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in cash handling.
Ability to work a schedule that includes working some Saturdays.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Professional written, oral, and well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
Previous sales experience a plus.
Positive attitude with reliable attendance.
Work will require gaining knowledge of all Colorado United products and services.
This is a PART-TIME non-exempt hourly position with a varied work schedule Monday through Saturday, for a total of 25 hours per week.
